UAE Reaffirms Commitment to Child Empowerment on Emirati Children’s Day 2026
The Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai (SLC) has reaffirmed the United Arab Emirates’ commitment to empowering children and safeguarding their rights on the occasion of Emirati Children’s Day 2026.
In a statement marking the annual occasion on March 14, Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar Al Muhairi, Secretary General of the SLC, said the day highlights the UAE’s holistic approach to child development, guided by the vision of the country’s leadership, which places people at the centre of sustainable development.
He noted that the UAE’s institutions and community continue to work together to ensure children grow in a supportive environment backed by strong institutions, cohesive social values, and active community engagement.
Al Muhairi emphasised that the country’s advanced legislative framework plays a key role in protecting children’s rights and creating opportunities for them to develop their potential. The system ensures access to education, care, and safety, while encouraging innovation and creativity among young people.
He added that empowering children today helps prepare a generation capable of contributing to the nation’s progress and strengthening the UAE’s global leadership.
The SLC also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting national strategies aimed at enhancing quality of life, strengthening family cohesion, and promoting social solidarity across society.
According to Al Muhairi, the committee will continue working to promote a legislative and societal culture that raises awareness about children’s rights and nurtures confident and creative young citizens who can contribute to the country’s long-term development.
Emirati Children’s Day is observed annually to highlight the importance of child welfare and reinforce national efforts to provide a safe and supportive environment for children across the UAE.
