UAE Paralympic achievement gets resolute by Emirates NBD

The UAE will get a noteworthy lift by Emirates NBD, one of the leading banks in the region in pursuing a record medal run during the quadrennial Paralympic Games in Tokyo by the year 2020.

A new partnership will provide a substantial contribution to NPC's preparations for next year's case, and the biggest ever team representation of the UAE at a Paralympic Games, between the Emirates NBD and the National Paralympic Committee (NPC). In past editions of the Games, the United Arab Emirates have won three medals at the 2012 London Paralympics and a sum of seven medals in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.

H.E. Mohammed Al Hameli, Chairperson of the UAE Paralympic Committee stated, "In latest years, we have worked very hard to increase the paralympic movement in the UAE to a greater standard. I might want to express my gratitude to NBD's Emirates for their help, which not only supports our elite athletes, but also helps to develop a timetable of community engagement to enable everyone with physical disabilities to take up sports.

"The visionary leadership initiative of the UAE believes in a culture of willpower and determination, and the NBD shared this vision to make it impossible," said Fuad Shaiban, Senior Vice-President, Head of HR Business Partnership Emirates. In our flagship #TogetherLimitless advocacy platform, the Paralympic movement embodies the highest values of sport and inclusiveness, which fit completely into the objectives of the UAE year of toleration and the bank's determined attempts. He added.

From 7 to 15 November, the UAE is hosting the World Para Athletics Championship, which will be attended by 1,300 athletes from more than 100 nations. The Championships will occur at the new games arena of the Dubai Club for People of Determination and will be held under the support of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
"As a force in the International Paralympic Movement the UAE continues to create excellent strikes," said Mohammad Khamis Khalaf, a power raising gold medalist.
