Commissioned by Microsoft and conducted by Ecosystm, a leading global digital research and consulting agency, the study explores the role of technology in sustainability initiatives.

The findings reveal that while 84% of organizations globally view sustainability as a strategic priority, only 21% leverage technology to reduce their environmental footprint and enhance their sustainability strategies.

Technology's Dual Role: Despite technology’s ability to reduce carbon footprints and amplify sustainability goals, only 21% of organizations fully utilize its capabilities.
Data Analysis and Decision-Making: While 54% of organizations have integrated sustainability initiatives into their reporting processes, only 19% use data comprehensively in strategic planning.
AI and Sustainability Goals: While 55% of respondents believe AI will significantly impact their sustainability objectives, 62% limit AI use to analyzing historical data for monitoring and reporting purposes.
