Smart Dubai Holds Virtual Meeting for Chief Data Officers From Various Government Entities in Dubai

Smart Dubai held an online meeting for Chief Data Officers (CDOs) from several government entities in the emirate to display the Data Compliance advancement made by the respective Dubai Government entities.


The Smart Dubai team also presented the Data Sharing Toolkit, which was started in April 2020 to provide guidelines for government and private entities to encourage collaboration and share data consistently amongst partner entities.


His Excellency Younus Al Nasser, Assistant Director-General of Smart Dubai and CEO of the Dubai Data Establishment, said: Data increases remarkably in weight when shared among entities.


Data exchange increases the opportunities that present in terms of informing opinions and guiding visions in various sectors.


With that in mind, governments throughout the world are now working hard to open and share their data, having recognised that this strategy plays a vital role in finding resolutions for a host of difficulties faced by their communities.


Governments, public establishments, and private companies are committed to finding new ways to expedite the sharing and interchange of valuable data that can present value producing solutions, H.E. added.


This reflects the real value of data and its positive influence in supporting decision-makers in developing city plans.

The meeting brought together CDOs from Dubai Municipality, Dubai Customs, Dubai Economy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), D.P. World, Department of Land and Property in Dubai, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), and Dubai Government Human Resources Department.
