Sindan partners with NYU Abu Dhabi to advance AI manufacturing and talent development

Sindan has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) to strengthen collaboration in research, talent development, and advanced manufacturing.

The agreement was formalised during Make it in the Emirates 2026 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, highlighting a shared commitment to bridging academia and industry within the UAE’s growing innovation ecosystem.

Focus on research and advanced manufacturing

Under the partnership, Sindan and NYUAD will collaborate on material testing, qualification, and standardisation, with a particular focus on AI-powered and large-format additive manufacturing technologies. The initiative aims to accelerate joint research and development (R&D) efforts while also unlocking commercialisation opportunities.

Students will gain direct exposure to real-world manufacturing environments, enhancing their understanding of emerging technologies and their applications across industries.

Enhancing student skills and career pathways

The collaboration will provide NYUAD students with access to:

Internships and bootcamps
Hands-on research opportunities
Industry-led training in advanced manufacturing processes

These initiatives are designed to equip students with practical, job-ready skills, complementing their academic learning and preparing them for careers in high-tech sectors.

Strengthening academia-industry integration

Heyuan Huang, Managing Director and CEO of Sindan, said the partnership reflects a shared vision to advance innovation and academic excellence, while enabling students to better understand the role of AI in manufacturing.

NYUAD Provost Arlie Petters emphasised that the collaboration will allow students and researchers to engage directly with cutting-edge technologies, combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience to address real-world challenges.

The MoU reinforces Sindan’s role as a national hub for AI-driven manufacturing, positioning it as a key link between academic research and industrial application.
