Sharjah targets more tourists from China and Hong Kong with promotional tour to three key cities
Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) is taking part in a promotional tour of China and Hong Kong under the umbrella of National Council for Tourism and Antiquities from March 28 to April 1 to bring in more tourists to the emirate from these markets.
During the tour, SCTDA will promote the emirate's latest tourism products and facilities and check out opportunities for joint cooperation with possible partners in China and Hong Kong.
The UAE delegation, consisting of agents from tourism firms from all the emirates, will organise road shows in three cities-- Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong-- highlighting the tourism potential offered by the UAE.
Talking about the tour program, His Excellency Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of SCTDA, stated that China and Hong Kong are significant markets for the UAE's tourism sector. China, in particular, is becoming an increasingly vital growth market for hotel guests each year to the nation's various emirates, including Sharjah, he said.
HE Al Midfa highlighted the value of magnifying marketing campaigns in these promising markets pointing out that the variety of Chinese visitors to Sharjah has actually experienced remarkable growth in recent years, increasing 78 % in 2015.
Expressing SCTDA's eager interest to participate in the promotional tours organised by the National Council for Tourism and Antiquities, HE Al Midfa stated these tour will add to the growth of the tourism sector in the nation and provide opportunities for industry entities in each emirate to highlight the diversity of their tourism items.

SCTDA's participation in the promotional trip to China and Hong Kong follows its current successful campaigns in major travel and tourist platforms, most notably its involvement in ITB Berlin and Moscow International Travel & Tourism Exhibition.
