Ras Al Khaimah and UK Government Strengthen Trade and Investment Ties
Ras Al Khaimah and the UK Government signed a growth partnership agreement to expand cooperation across trade, industry, education, culture, and heritage. The agreement was signed in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, and Jonathan Reynolds MP, UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Sheikh Khalid bin Saud Al Qasimi, Vice Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah's Investment and Development Office (IDO), and Oliver Christian, His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for the Middle East. The MoU is set to foster trade and industrial collaboration, supporting Ras Al Khaimah’s economic vision and offering British businesses significant opportunities in the Northern Emirates.
Sheikh Khalid bin Saud Al Qasimi emphasized, “This partnership embodies Ras Al Khaimah’s vision for sustainable growth, where both parties can leverage their strengths. We anticipate this will drive innovation and create new opportunities for our businesses."
The agreement includes plans for a joint business incubator in Ras Al Khaimah, creating a platform for UK companies to expand into UAE and Middle Eastern markets. Other collaboration areas include food security, agricultural strategy, and cultural exchanges, with plans for UK roadshows to showcase Ras Al Khaimah’s investment potential.
Jonathan Reynolds MP hailed the MoU as a milestone for British businesses, reinforcing the UK’s historic ties with the UAE and commitment to shared economic growth.
