Qme Closes $3 Million Seed Round Led by AHOY to Advance AI-Driven Customer Journeys in MENA
Massive Media – Qme, a rising B2B SaaS startup based in Egypt, has secured $3 million in a seed funding round led by AHOY, a multisector technology company, alongside a group of angel investors from the GCC. This funding will support Qme's mission to address inefficiencies in the MENA region's queuing and appointment booking systems through AI-driven technology.
Qme provides an integrated platform that combines booking, queuing, analytics, and payment solutions to streamline customer journeys. The platform aims to tackle a critical problem in MENA, where individuals spend an average of six months of their lives standing in line due to outdated queuing systems. In addition, the reliance on phone bookings, which make up 92% of appointments in key sectors, results in a 31% no-show rate, further exacerbating inefficiencies.
“We are thrilled to partner with AHOY, as their operational excellence and cutting-edge technology will significantly enhance our ability to optimize customer experiences and move forward in dynamic markets," said Maged Negm, CEO and Co-Founder of Qme. "This partnership is a pivotal moment for Qme, and we’re excited to welcome Jamil Shinawi, AHOY's CEO, to our Advisors Committee."
Since its commercial launch in Q4 2023, Qme has made significant progress, serving over 100,000 customers across healthcare, banking, and government sectors. The platform has reduced waiting times from 116 minutes to just 14 minutes and cut phone booking no-show rates to below 1%. Qme has also digitized queuing systems, saving an estimated 50,000 square meters of paper.
Jamil Shinawi, CEO and Co-Founder of AHOY, added, “Qme’s ability to streamline customer journeys aligns perfectly with AHOY’s mission to reduce friction in everyday processes. Our partnership will help Qme expand across the GCC and African regions and drive global growth.”
Qme is also part of AHOY’s Startup Builder Initiative, aimed at empowering 10,000 entrepreneurs and supporting 30,000 software developers in the MENA region by 2030. The initiative focuses on exponential innovation in critical infrastructure sectors like transportation, aviation, and smart cities.
The new funding will allow Qme to enhance its technology stack, extend its operational reach, and form strategic partnerships to redefine how businesses and governments engage with customers in the future.
