NMC Healthcare to Sell 65% Stake in Fakih IVF to Blue Ocean Health Group
NMC Healthcare, a leading private healthcare provider in the UAE, has announced its decision to sell its 65% stake in Fakih IVF Fertility Centre to Blue Ocean Health Group. The transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions, is expected to be finalized within the next two months. Upon completion, Blue Ocean will gain full ownership of Fakih IVF. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
The sale aligns with NMC Healthcare’s strategic focus on expanding its core multi-specialty healthcare services. The company plans to reinvest proceeds from the transaction into enhancing its existing facilities and launching new medical centers across Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Upcoming projects include a pediatric medical center in Dubai Marina and a multi-specialty medical center in Palm Jumeirah, set to open this summer.
David Hadley, CEO of NMC Healthcare, emphasized that the sale would enable the company to strengthen its secondary and tertiary care services. "NMC’s core mission is to provide accessible, multi-specialty healthcare services across the UAE. This transaction allows us to focus on our expansion efforts while ensuring Fakih IVF continues its vital work under Blue Ocean’s leadership,” he stated.
Fakih IVF, recognized as the GCC region’s leading fertility services provider, views the acquisition as an opportunity to strengthen its presence and expand its services. Dr. Michael Fakih, Executive Chairman of Blue Ocean Health and Founder of Fakih IVF, highlighted the company’s commitment to growth and innovation. "Fully integrating Fakih IVF into Blue Ocean Health Group allows us to enhance our services, invest in infrastructure, and advance fertility treatment technologies through research and innovation," he noted.
NMC Healthcare remains a key player in the UAE’s medical sector, operating a network of 78 hospitals and medical facilities across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and the Northern Emirates. Serving over 5.5 million patients annually, NMC continues to expand its role in providing high-quality healthcare services nationwide.
