MyID for single sign-on to Dubai government's services at DSG's stand sees large turnout

The MyID service for single login to Dubai Government's services is witnessing great interest from the visitors of Dubai Smart Government Department's (DSG's) stand at Gitex 2015. The service enables them to access more than 250 e/smart services provided by 13 government entities with access through smart phones or the Internet using a single sign-on.

According to the latest statistics announced by DSG, as many as 46,000 people have registered in MyID to access services from 13 government entities including: Department of Economic Development, DEWA, RTA, Dubai Municipality, GDRFA, DPP, DHA, Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing, Establishment, Dubai Police, DSG, Dubai Courts, Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology and Land Department.

H.E. Ahmad Bin Humaidan, DSG Director General, said: "DSG is diligently seeking to provide the government entities with the infrastructure and shared services necessary for the public to successfully access their services smoothly wherever they are and round the clock. This effectively contributes to ensuring full transformation to smart government and paves the way for Dubai to become the smartest city in the world in implementation of the initiative of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to shift to smart government, and in response to the directives of HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, to provide a single sign-on to every customer in line with the initiative of Dubai Government Towards 2021, which he launched. "

Bin Humaidan added: "We have announced the launch of Dubai Now- the unified hub for most services. To complement these efforts, we are now working on DSG's strategy to ease most transactions through a single window, using MyID. This is evidence of our commitment to provide smart and convenient services aimed at making customers happy and increasing their confidence in government performance. Registering in MyID service eliminates the need for customers to register with every government entity separately and have multiple login accounts. Customers can register in the service through electronic kiosks across Dubai as well as in some customer halls at government entities, and affiliated service centres, Dubai Mall and many other areas. Dubai Courts customers in particular can have notary public services implemented and get cases registered and tracked through the kiosks at Al Twar Centre.

Through the website https://myid.dubai.gov.ae, the public can also directly register and learn more about the service and its benefits. Those who have card readers can also register in the comfort of their homes or offices. MyID has in-built security standards which will ensure the confidence, privacy and safety of registered users; in addition to convenience.
