Ministry of Culture and Emirates Association for Social Development Sign Cooperation Agreement to Boost Cultural Awareness
The Ministry of Culture and the Emirates Association for Social Development in Ras Al Khaimah have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening national partnerships, enhancing cultural development, and expanding community-focused programmes across the UAE.
The agreement was formalised by His Excellency Mubarak Al Nakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, and His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Abdul Latif Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of the Emirates Association for Social Development. Senior officials from both entities attended the signing ceremony.
Under the partnership, the two organisations will jointly implement a series of cultural and community initiatives, including events, workshops, and training programmes focused on national identity, heritage, and cultural development. The collaboration will also include research projects, knowledge exchange, and initiatives designed to enhance cultural awareness among all segments of society.
A key component of the agreement is the empowerment of Emirati talent. Both parties will work on developing cultural and artistic programmes that support youth, community associations, and emerging creatives by offering access to specialised cultural content. The agreement also promotes cooperation in documentation, publishing, and organising joint cultural events.
H.E. Mubarak Al Nakhi emphasised the importance of such collaborations, stating:
“This agreement reflects the Ministry’s commitment to nurturing effective partnerships with community institutions, which is crucial to strengthening the national cultural landscape. Cultural development is a shared responsibility that contributes to raising awareness and positively shaping individuals. Our partnership with the Emirates Association for Social Development is significant in this regard as the entity plays a pivotal role in community development as well as enhancing the potential of youth and national talents.”
He added that the partnership will help broaden cultural engagement, support initiatives that reinforce national identity, and launch programmes aligned with the goals of the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision.
H.E. Dr. Mohammed Abdul Latif Khalifa expressed pride in the collaboration, highlighting its role in fostering sustainable cultural and social development. He noted that the agreement will open the door to pioneering community initiatives and stronger institutional cooperation.
The Ministry of Culture underscored that the agreement aligns with its ongoing efforts to create an inclusive cultural ecosystem, strengthen cooperation with civil society entities, and enhance the role of culture in empowering individuals—while reinforcing values of belonging, loyalty, and national identity.
