Ministry of Health to highlight vital aspects & role of UAEs pharmaceutical sector at GCC Pharmaceutical Congress in Dubai

The Ministry of Health is showcasing the UAEs pharmaceutical care practice, its vital aspects and fundamental role in advancing pharmacy practice in the GCC region during its participation at the upcoming third edition of the GCC Pharmaceutical Congress in Dubai. The Ministrys delegation led by H.E. Amin Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health and Licensing, will share their expertise in various interactive workshops and insightful panel discussions of the congress, which will be held Today October 6, 2015 at the Dusit Thani Hotel.

The Ministrys participation falls under its objectives to engage with key international and regional experts, learn new technologies and innovations, improve human competencies, and strengthen all aspects of the local healthcare industry for a globally competitive domestic healthcare sector. H.E. Al Amiri will be joined by Ministry officials Dr. Eanas Elgadi, Head of Sundries Department, Dubai Medical Store, Dr. Ola Ghaleb Al Ahdab, Researcher, Pharmacy Consultant and Pharmaceutical Advisor, Registration and Drug Control Department, and other renowned expert speakers in various forums and discussions. Dr. Al Ahdab is also part of the congress Scientific Board Members.

H.E. Dr. Amin Hussain Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for the Ministrys Public Health Policy and License Sector, said: A strong, patient-centered pharmaceutical care is highly crucial to the development and promotion of pharmacy practice at the regional and international levels. It is, therefore, imperative for the entire GCC region to constantly identify significant growth opportunities and highlight key solutions to challenges in order to be globally competitive and be at par with its foreign counterparts. Holding open dialogues and establishing essential communication channels within the region are essential in achieving this goal.

The GCC Pharmaceutical Congress will provide an ideal venue for all stakeholders to discuss important issues ensuring adequate and professional pharmacy practice in the region. It will gather all members of the regional healthcare system to come up with recommendations that will further drive the GCC pharmaceutical sector. We look forward to hearing from other industry experts, sharing our ideas, and discussing the UAE experience in pharmacy practice with all the participants during the conference, Dr. Al Amiri added.

Held under the theme Advancing Pharmacy Practice in the Region, the congress will cover key topics such as improving pharmacy practice and reviewing regulations and compliance. Participants will benefit from over 30 scientific sessions featuring more than 40 distinguished names from the government, academia, hospitals and solutions providers. Additionally, they will have an opportunity to discuss the most pressing concerns in pharmacy practice and acquire the necessary tools to achieve success and develop future pharmacy leaders.
