Kuwait celebrates UAEs achievements at closing ceremony of Kuwait Alsalam Emarat Al Wafa Festival
The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirates dedicated Authority for culture, arts and heritage, applauded the support and appreciation of Kuwait in honouring the UAE's achievements with the Kuwait Alsalam Emarat Al Wafa festival held at the Al Shindagha Historical Neighbourhood in Dubai. The closing ceremony of the festival underlined the strong relations between the UAE and Kuwait.
A variety of arts, culture and creative activities were held during the festival, which enlightened visitors on the ties between the two nations as well as on the rich Arab heritage. The colourful activities also put the spotlight on the traditions of the two countries.
His Excellency Abdul Rahman Al Owais, the UAE's Health Minister and Chairman of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, and His Excellency Ziab Al Rashidy, Consul General of Kuwait in the UAE, attended the festival and were provided with a special tour. Eminent cultural figures from both countries as well as senior personalities from GCC nations attended the event with Abdullah Al Mutairy, UAE representative and Abrar Al Masoud, Kuwait representative, addressing audiences.
Saeed Al Nabouda, Acting Director General of the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, said: The festival was a true representation of the strong relations between the two countries and was a platform for highlighting our cultural traditions. We are thankful to Kuwait for their kind appreciation of the UAE's accomplishments through the festival and were pleased to support the event which celebrated our achievements as well as its efforts in promoting humanitarian values globally."
His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, President of the Federal National Council, His Excellency Sultan Saqr Al Suwaidi, and Abdul Ghaffar Hussain attended a panel discussion by Bilal Al Budoor, Vice-Chairman of the Cultural & Scientific Association and Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghoneim, Consultant to the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature in Kuwait that further highlighted the cordial relationship between UAE and Kuwait.
The festival celebrated the UAEs successes through cultural shows and activities consisting of unique artwork pieces, fashion shows inspired by the deep rooted traditions of both countries and concerts featuring well-known Kuwaiti and Emirati artists, TV, cinema and musical celebrities including Fayez Al Saeed from the UAE and Ibrahim Dashti from Kuwait. Renowned poet Ali Al Khawar showcased a compelling poetic piece with a special recital performance, which marked the spirit of unity shared by the two nations. A dedicated session for younger audiences was also held.
