Jury Begins Evaluation for Hamdan-ICESCO Prize for Voluntary Development of Education Facilities

The international jury of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) has officially commenced its evaluation process for the Hamdan-ICESCO Prize for Voluntary Development of Education Facilities in the Islamic World. This year, nine exemplary projects from various Islamic nations have advanced to the final evaluation stage after successfully passing rigorous initial screenings, which included submission reviews, compliance checks with eligibility criteria, and detailed assessments.

Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, expressed his enthusiasm for the prize’s ongoing influence. “We are delighted to announce the jury’s deliberations for the Hamdan-ICESCO Prize,” he stated. “This collaboration with ICESCO continues to highlight exceptional contributions to the development of education infrastructure within the Islamic world.”

The prestigious prize aims to recognize and reward initiatives that enhance educational facilities through voluntary efforts. Dr. Al Suwaidi emphasized the prize’s pivotal role, stating: “The award celebrates endeavors to establish, upgrade, and equip schools and educational institutions. It also highlights charitable initiatives dedicated to improving education for communities across the Islamic world.”

Since its establishment, the Hamdan-ICESCO Prize has garnered significant participation from numerous Islamic countries, showcasing innovative projects and success stories. These initiatives serve as models for replication, contributing to stronger educational systems, broader knowledge dissemination, and community empowerment. Many of these projects integrate technological advancements to ensure modern, high-quality education.

Dr. Al Suwaidi also commended ICESCO for its crucial role in advancing Arab and Islamic education and its steadfast partnership with the Hamdan Foundation in achieving the prize’s objectives. “ICESCO’s dedication to improving education aligns perfectly with the vision of this prize,” he noted.

Established in 2017 with the support of the late Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Hamdan-ICESCO Prize honors exceptional individuals and institutions that contribute to the voluntary development of educational facilities. Awarded biennially, the prize includes three winners who share a total of USD 300,000, with each receiving a trophy and USD 100,000 to further their charitable initiatives, particularly those aimed at enhancing educational infrastructure.
