Italian masterchefs stir michelin mania at the speciality food festival
Seven of Italys finest culinary talents amassed from restaurants holding eight Michelin Stars will conduct a series of live cooking demonstrations and judge a series of Italian-themed cooking competitions at the 7th Italian Cuisine World Summit, a unique culinary event running from October 27-29 at The Speciality Food Festival at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC)
Designed to promote Italian-made food and beverage products to tens of thousands of global food industry professionals attending the autumnal food shows at DWTC, this years Italian Cuisine World Summit the events third consecutive outing in Dubai - will also host dedicated competitions for pizza, risotto, pasta and espresso making.
Chef Claudio Sadler of Milans two Michelin-starred Sadler Restaurant widely regarded as one of Italys premier fine dining establishments will headline the line-up of Italys leading cuisine artisans.
Six chefs from one Michelin-starred restaurants across Italy will join Sadler including Chef Salvatore Bianco of Naples Il Comandante; Chef Roberto Franzin of Udines La Taverna; Chef Tano Simonato of Milans Tano Passami Loilo, Chef Alfredo Russo of Dolce Stil Novo Alla Reggia outside Turin, Chef Giuseppe Stanzione of Salernos Le Trabe, and Chef Antonio Coco of Palermos I Pupi.
It is a tremendous privilege to represent the very best of Italian cuisine and our countrys high-quality food and beverage products at the 7th Italian Cuisine World Summit, said Chef Sadler. Italian cuisine continues to be extremely popular with diners across Dubai, the UAE and the wider Gulf. The region is an increasingly important export market for artisanal suppliers of a wide variety of food products - from olive oils, breads, meats and cheeses to vegetables, pastas, sauces and gourmet products.
In addition to the live cooking demonstrations, the seven masterchefs will judge four Italian-themed cooking competitions - the Pasta Premier League on October 27, the Risotto World Contest on October 28, the Espresso World Summit with 20 international baristas on October 29 and daily Best Italian Pizza contests during The Speciality Food Festival.
Fifty chefs will battle it out in the three pizza making competitions which include a UAE contest on October 27, a GCC battle with chefs from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman on October 28, and a World final featuring chefs from Italy, Spain, Lebanon, USA, Honk Kong, China and Japan on October 29. The winners of the UAE and GCC competitions will earn a place in the World final, while all competitors will use organic wheat and flour provided by Molino Quaglia and cook their pizzas in Marana Ovens.
These exclusive cooking competitions will showcase the world-class array of culinary products the world has come to expect from Italy, which has its largest-ever representation of 25 Italian companies participating alongside more than 200 exhibitors from over 50 countries at this years event, said Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice President, Exhibitions & Events Management, DWTC.
Open 10am-6pm from 27- 28 October and from 10am5pm on 29 October 2015, The Speciality Food Festival runs alongside Sweets and Snacks Middle East which is co-organised with Koelnmesse GmbH - and SEAFEX. All three shows are for trade and business professionals only. General public and persons under the age of 21 will not be permitted entry.
