Gargash Group Partners With Adyen To Advance Payment Innovation In UAE

Gargash Group has signed a strategic partnership with Adyen to strengthen its digital payments ecosystem and accelerate payment innovation across its business portfolio. The agreement supports the group’s broader digital transformation strategy focused on automation, operational efficiency, and enhanced customer experience.

The partnership was formally announced during a signing ceremony held on February 11 at the Mercedes-Benz Brand Center in Dubai Design District.

First Implementation Rolled Out At Sixt UAE

As part of the first rollout phase, Adyen’s unified payment platform has been successfully deployed at Sixt UAE, a Gargash Group portfolio company. The system enables seamless, secure, and frictionless payments across online, in-store, and mobile channels.

The platform supports multiple transaction types, including:

  1. Deposit payments

  2. Pre-authorizations

  3. Chargebacks

  4. Refunds

  5. Traffic fines and toll payments

The centralized system also provides a 360-degree transaction view, giving teams stronger control, improved reconciliation accuracy, and better audit transparency.

Operational Efficiency And Data Visibility Improve

Since deployment, the new payment infrastructure has delivered measurable operational gains. According to the company, staff now spend less time on repetitive payment processing tasks, allowing greater focus on higher-value activities.

Key improvements include:

  1. Better data quality and reporting accuracy

  2. Stronger governance and audit controls

  3. Enhanced security and accountability

  4. Faster reconciliation processes

These capabilities contribute to a more connected and data-driven payment environment across business units.

Part Of Broader Digital And AI Transformation

The Adyen partnership represents a milestone in Gargash Group’s ongoing technology modernization programme. The group has recently expanded multiple digital initiatives, including:

  1. Deployment of enterprise AI tools

  2. Introduction of an advanced retail audit platform

  3. Upgrades to productivity and project management systems

  4. Hosting of a regional AI hackathon

Leadership said these initiatives are designed to build scalable, future-ready operations and maintain competitive advantage in a rapidly evolving market.

Walid Hizaoui, Group Chief Strategy Officer at Gargash Group, said the collaboration supports automation, system integrity, and data reliability at scale, while strengthening the group’s long-term AI and digital capabilities.

Automotive Payments Complexity Addressed

Daumantas Grigaravicius, Head of Middle East at Adyen, noted that automotive-sector payments are often high-value and operationally complex, involving deposits, pre-authorizations, refunds, and reconciliations.

He said consolidating these processes onto a single platform helps reduce friction, improve financial control, and deliver a smoother end-to-end customer journey.

Planned Expansion Across Business Lines

Following the initial success, Gargash Group is evaluating a phased expansion of Adyen’s platform across additional business verticals. Future enhancements under review include:

  1. Deeper POS integrations

  2. Expanded pre-authorization capabilities

  3. Greater automation of fines and toll processing

  4. Advanced reconciliation workflows

The group said its technology roadmap aligns with UAE priorities around sustainability, economic development, digital enablement, and governance-led growth.
