Federal Tax Authority Hosts Hackathon to Present Cutting-Edge Concepts and Initiatives for Enhancing Tax Services
As a part of its involvement in the UAE Innovation Month, the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) orchestrated a dynamic Hackathon at the Dubai Youth Hub in the Emirates Towers. In collaboration with SAP, a leading force in technology and applications, and the FTA's strategic ally in propelling digital transformation, this event fostered a convergence of intellects.
Throughout the event, the FTA showcased pioneering projects and technological innovations tailored to address challenges within the tax sector across diverse domains. These presentations underscored the fortification of frameworks for cooperation and partnership among government entities, the private sector, and educational institutions.
Following the commencement of the Hackathon, the FTA received 15 projects designed to enrich tax awareness in society, harness cutting-edge technology to streamline processes, facilitate tax filings for small and medium enterprises, and combat tax evasion. The participants hailed from varied backgrounds, including developers, programmers with diverse technical proficiencies, university students offering fresh insights, entrepreneurs, business proprietors, government officials, and community members well-versed in tax policies and financial regulations. The event garnered a plethora of innovative concepts and projects of high caliber.
H.E. Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director General of the Federal Tax Authority, reiterated the Authority's commitment to devising and implementing innovative ventures and initiatives that leverage advanced technology. These endeavors are pivotal in elevating the tax service landscape in the UAE, proactively tackling challenges, and fostering collaboration and partnerships with a spectrum of government, private, and industrial stakeholders.
H.E. further remarked, "The 'Hackathon', a highlight of the UAE Innovation Month, has played a pivotal role in showcasing innovators from diverse backgrounds and harnessing their talents and innovations. These contributions align with the FTA's digital transformation strategy, aimed at delivering top-tier and efficient tax solutions in accordance with the highest global standards."
The FTA will evaluate the submitted projects and solutions to identify the top three innovative solutions. Additionally, they will explore potential collaboration opportunities with the creators of the winning projects. Evaluation criteria will encompass elements such as creativity, innovation, data integration in solution design, solution robustness, usability, design finesse, prototype provision, technological implementation, impact, benefits, feasibility, and a viable implementation plan for further development and expansion of the idea.
