Family Development Foundation Celebrates Emirati Women’s Day

The Family Development Foundation (FDF) commemorated Emirati Women’s Day with a special event under the theme ‘We Share for Tomorrow,’ honoring the significant contributions of Emirati women to community development and the advancement of the UAE. The event took place at the Abu Dhabi Centre of the Family Development Foundation and was attended by several high-ranking officials, experts, and representatives from strategic partners and sponsors.

Notable attendees included H.E. Mariam Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Director General of FDF; H.E. Abdulrahman Al Blooshi, Director of Strategic Planning & Institutional Development at FDF; and H.E. Saeed Al Ghafli, Director of Support Services at FDF. The event also welcomed H.E. Mariam Al Mazrouei, Director of Community Service at FDF, Wafa Mohammed Al Ali, Acting Director of the Family Development Department at FDF, alongside various businesswomen and officials.

The event underscored the crucial role of Emirati women in shaping the future of the UAE, acknowledging their unwavering commitment to the nation's progress and stability. FDF emphasized that by celebrating the achievements of Emirati women, they aim to inspire future generations to continue making significant societal contributions. The event also highlighted the vital role of the late H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in empowering women and ensuring a brighter future for Emirati women through his visionary leadership.

H.E. Mariam Mohammed Al Rumaithi remarked, “It is our honor to host this event, celebrating the vital role of Emirati women in our community and their immense contributions to the progress and development of the UAE. With the support of our wise leadership, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Emirati women have achieved remarkable milestones and contributed significantly to our nation’s growth.”

She further emphasized the significance of Emirati Women’s Day, which celebrates the achievements of women who are considered the architects of the country’s progress. H.E. Al Rumaithi also praised the unwavering support of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union, for her dedication to empowering Emirati women and advancing their roles across various sectors.

Acknowledgments:

During the event, H.E. Mariam Mohammed Al Rumaithi expressed her deep appreciation to H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, lauding her efforts in enhancing employment opportunities for women and ensuring their full participation across all areas. She also highlighted the contributions of FDF’s female employees, who make up 83% of the Foundation’s workforce, with many holding leadership positions.

H.E. Al Rumaithi concluded by thanking the participants, female entrepreneurs, and FDF staff for their contributions to the Emirati Women’s Day celebration and praised those responsible for organizing the accompanying exhibitions, which added to the significance of the occasion.
