Epson’s Indonesian and Thai Facilities Earn Platinum Recognition for Responsible Business Practices
Seiko Epson Corporation (TSE: 6724), a global leader in technology and sustainability, has announced that two of its major production facilities—PT. Epson Batam (PEB) in Indonesia and Epson Precision (Thailand) Ltd. (EPTH) have achieved Platinum Recognition under the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Validated Assessment Program (VAP).
This top-tier recognition follows independent third-party audits authorized by the RBA, reflecting Epson’s dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and its continuous efforts to uphold ethical standards across its global supply chain.
Commitment to Global Standards
Since joining the Responsible Business Alliance in April 2019, Epson has voluntarily undertaken rigorous VAP assessments to measure adherence to the RBA Code of Conduct. These evaluations cover key areas, including labor rights, health and safety, environmental protection, and ethical business practices.
The Platinum status is awarded only to facilities that earn a perfect audit score of 200 and successfully close all Priority, Major, and Minor findings identified during the inspection. Both PEB and EPTH met these stringent requirements, joining an elite group of manufacturing facilities recognized for their exceptional commitment to responsible operations.
Regional and Global Milestones
Epson has conducted successful VAP audits at multiple production sites across Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, China, and the Philippines. Achieving Platinum recognition across several regions solidifies the company’s global leadership in ethical manufacturing.
