ENOC Lubricants strengthens commitment to excellence through series of global benchmarks

ENOC Lubricants and Grease Manufacturing Plant (ELOMP), part of the Marketing business segment of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), has accomplished 3 international accreditations in quality, health and safety, further reiterating its leadership within the regional lubes industry.

ELOMP's Jebel Ali facility has actually achieved the ISO 9001:2008 for Quality Management System, the ISO 14001:2004 for Environmental Management system and OHSAS 18001:2007 for Occupational Health & Safety Management System, all internationally recognised standardised certifications which translate into the highest level of services and products for its clients.

H.E. Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO, ENOC, stated: "With a yearly mixing capability of 300,000 metric tonnes per annum at both the Jebel Ali and Fujairah plants, ELOMP serves clients across the automobile, marine transport and industrial sectors; and because of our extensive, cosmopolitan consumer base, it is necessary that we make sure that our items follow the greatest requirements.

"Achieving these accreditations shows that ENOC's items and operations observe worldwide benchmarks in quality, health and safety.".

The accreditations were presented to ENOC by DNV GL, an international certification body and classification society with the primary expertise in technical assessment, advisory, and risk management. These accreditations highlight ELOMP Jebel Ali's center as an essential aspect for ENOC's leadership in the lubricants market, after the commissioning of the primary plant in Fujairah.

"Over the last six months, ELOMP has gone through a rigorous audit in every element of its operations, to make sure that all stakeholders - be it management, workers, consumers and the environment- are lined up with the facility's strategy," stated Zaid Alqufaidi, Managing Director, ENOC Marketing. "These accreditations demonstrate our commitment to excellence; build on our achievements in ELOMP Fujairah, and assist us accomplish a high degree of product differentiation.".

ELOMP in Jebel Ali has a dedicated 5,000 square metre production facility situated within the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA). The facility is capable of expanding its capability to 25,000 metric tonnes to 50,000 metric tonnes, through operational efficiencies.

Assessments occurred across ELOMP operations over a period of six months, and included:

ISO 9001:2008 - Quality Management System (QMS) is a standard that sets coordinated activities to direct and control ELOMPs management system to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of its performance.

ISO 14001:2004 EMS Environmental Management System (EMS) will initiate an effective environmental management system in ELOMP that will reduce the facilitys environmental impact; provide a framework for social corporate responsibility as well as a legal structure for regulatory requirements (enforced by both JAFZA and Trakhees).

OHSAS 18001:2007 is an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OH&SMS) that will provide a framework to identify and control health and safety risks, reduce the potential for accidents, comply with legislation and improve operational performance. It will provide appropriate measures and controls to manage risks associated with ELOMPs activities to improve operational performance through better accident management and reduced downtime.
