Emirates Health Services Hosts "Future Readiness Lab" to Shape UAE’s Health Sector Future
Emirates Health Services (EHS) organized the "Future Readiness Lab," an event focused on preparing the UAE’s health sector for future challenges and innovations. The event, which brought together key figures such as H.E. Dr. Yousif Mohamed Al Serkal, Director General of EHS, alongside representatives from the Government Development & The Future Office, the Ministry of Health and Prevention, and the Institute of Public Health at the United Arab Emirates University, aimed to shape a strategic health agenda for 2027-2031.
The "Future Readiness Lab" featured intensive workshops on emerging trends in primary and specialized healthcare, mental health, public health, and the integration of advanced technology and big data in health services. Experts from various governmental and academic entities, as well as local and international health professionals, actively contributed insights and ideas that align with EHS’ mission to improve readiness, create innovative models, and learn from global best practices.
Aligning with UAE Vision
H.E. Dr. Abdulaziz Al Zarooni, Acting Executive Director of the Financial Sector and Support Services at EHS, emphasized that the event was a significant step towards realizing the UAE’s vision for a comprehensive, future-ready health system. He noted that EHS is committed to transforming healthcare delivery through digital infrastructure, innovation, and proactive solutions that enhance community well-being. Al Zarooni reaffirmed that the event reflects the UAE leadership’s commitment to providing world-class health services and positioning the nation as a global hub for health excellence.

The event also highlighted the importance of sustainability and global collaboration in addressing the future challenges of the health sector. By using future design tools, the initiative empowers government employees to sharpen their skills and prepare for emerging global trends and technological impacts.

The event concluded with a review of the outcomes from the workshops and discussions, which generated proposals for significant projects aimed at enhancing the integration and transformation of the UAE’s health system. These proposals aim to support a smart, sustainable transformation that will ensure the nation’s health services are ready for future needs and challenges.
