Almarai Honors Winners of the 16th Veterinary Medicine Award

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Ahsa, Almarai has honored the winners of the 16th Almarai Veterinary Medicine Award for GCC countries during the Second International Conference of the Saudi Veterinary Medical Association at King Faisal University, Al-Ahsa. The award celebrates Almarai's commitment to enhancing food security and public health across Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC region.

Launched in 2006, the prestigious award serves as a pioneering platform to recognize the outstanding contributions of veterinarians at both local and regional levels. It honors innovators and leaders in the veterinary field, whose efforts safeguard public health and protect livestock—key to the economic development of the region. The award also emphasizes the importance of scientific and field research, fostering innovation in veterinary medicine while promoting the profession’s vital role in society.

Over the past 16 years, the award has recognized 91 winners, including researchers, students, and practitioners. This year's edition honored six specialists from Saudi Arabia and the GCC across various categories, as well as two distinguished students.

Mr. Abdullah Al-Badr, CEO of Almarai, expressed: “At Almarai, we reaffirm our commitment to the veterinary sector, which plays a crucial role in ensuring food security. This aligns with our mission to deliver high-quality, nutritious foods, supporting the health and well-being of consumers. The Almarai Veterinary Medicine Award exemplifies our efforts to advance food security and contribute to sustainable development in the Kingdom and the region. It also strengthens our strategy to support the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in livestock sector development."

The award is a part of Almarai’s broader corporate social responsibility initiatives, which focus on improving the quality of life and community health. These initiatives align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to achieve food security and boost private sector participation in sustainable development.

Additionally, Almarai continues to support young talents through initiatives such as the “Almarai Scientific Innovation Award,” encouraging research and innovation in food systems, and inspiring future generations to prioritize advancements in food security.
