El Beit poetry shows 3rd episode announces its first female winner in the Nabd Al Soura competition

Episode 3 of the second season of El Beit poetry show was aired at 9pm on Monday, November 24th. This is in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, to revive authentic heritage - particularly Nabati poetry. The show is organized and produced by Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Centre. Filming took place at the shows studio in Dubai Studio City.

Mr Majid Abdul Rahman Al Bastaki, the shows General Coordinator, welcomed the visiting media delegates from Kuwait, pointing out that their visit reflects the magnitude of the shows success. This phenomenal success is being extended by nurturing talented poets and social media interactivity in the UAE and the entire Arab world.

The shows host, Barakat Al Wagayan welcomed Rajeh Al Otaibi from Saudi Arabia, the writer of the winning chater (first half of a poetic verse) that was chosen by both the judging panel and the guest of honour during Episode 2. He was awarded a special trophy and presented with a cheque for AED 200,000. Also appearing on the show was Badr Ali Al Yahya - also from Saudi Arabia - who won the Nabd Al Soura competition. He was presented with a trophy and AED 100,000 cheque.

Commenting on this special occasion, Rajeh Al Otaibi explained: The concept of the program is highly unique, because it does justice to creative poets. The most beautiful aspect of the program is the credibility of the members of the jury, who have won numerous awards - including the guest of honour on that particular episode. I have been keen to participate since the very first episodes of last season of the show. I am extremely grateful and I hope for even greater success.

Badr Ali Al Yahya from KSA, winner of the Nabd Al Soura competition, commented: El Beit poetry shows second season has continued its remarkable success from the first season. I am highly impressed by the voting process, which showcases the rich creativity of our poets.

After deliberating, the judging panels selected the winner of the third episode on the Golden Screen: Nasser Al Subaie from Saudi Arabia, who won AED 100,000. His eloquence and ability to understand deeper poetic meanings qualified him for the Grand Finale episode, where he stands to win AED 1 million.

Last weeks Nabd Al Soura Imagery Pulse competition featured an image that was personally captured by the lens of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. The first prize of AED 100,000 went to Maram Mohamed Al Qahtani first female winner in El Beit Poetry Show in Nabd Al Soura competition, who qualified for the Grand Finale episode and an opportunity to win AED 1 million. Two runners-up each won AED 50,000: Hamad Shafi Al Dosari and Nawaf Al Humaidani although they are not eligible to participate in the final episode.

The co-host for the second season, Emirati poet Ahmed Al Bidwawi, introduced this weeks guest: Khamis Al Mughaimi from the Sultanate of Oman, who is one of the most renowned Nabati poets. Al Mughaimi commented: I am very proud and delighted to be invited as a guest of honour for such a unique poetry show, as I have always made sure not to miss an episode.

He added: His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, supports initiatives that are highly creative and unique, and which continue to have a remarkable impact on both viewers and participants. The show is a live example of how poets can be inspired to compete in a transparent, creative show that promotes poetic talents.

The guest of honour selected his favourite chater (first half of a poetic verse) on the Golden Screen, composed by Mohammed Al Mutairi, who won AED 100,000. His conceptual depth and grasp of deeper symbolism qualified him into the Grand Finale episode, where he stands to win AED 1 million.
