El Beit continues to discover rising stars as Episode 9 unveils new poetic talents
Episode 9 of El Beits second season aired at 9pm on Monday and put the spotlight on the remarkable creative abilities of the winners from previous episodes. Their mastery of words, rhythms and imagery proved the saying that: If a novel is words in the best order, then a poem is the best words in the best order. The show is helping the audience to become fully immersed in Nabati poetry.
Mr Majid Abdul Rahman Al Bastaki, the shows General Coordinator said: Poetry has a unique place in expressing our identity while permeating our souls with delightful emotions. It also conveys the poets heartfelt feelings and creative spirit. The emotional bond between father and son is reflected in the excellent relationship between the Gulf nations as well as their citizens. The creativity, excellence and ingenuity of Their Highnesses symbolizes the immense wisdom and depth of emotions, while illustrating an abundant command of our rich vocabulary.
Jury and guest of honor select the same poet as the winner
In a sign of the poets wide appeal among different audiences, both the jury and the guest of honor - prominent poet Saad bin Jdlan - selected the same winner: Yazed Meshal Al Harbi. He will receive a double prize of AED 200,000 after the jury and guest of honor agreed that he has an impeccable poetic style. Al Harbi also qualified for the Grand Finale episode and stands to win AED 1 million.
On a closing note, Saad bin Jdlan delivered a poem flooded with emotions from the heart, as a salute to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
Judge Awadh Al Darmaki explained: Our participants have proved beyond any doubt that they have complete command of the unique features that make Nabati poetry stand out from other forms of poetic expression. They managed to faithfully translate the emotion of the image into the emotion of their words.
