EHRDC and DIFC Launch Programme to Empower Emirati Talent in Wealth Management and FinTech

The Emirati Human Resources Development Council (EHRDC) has partnered with Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the Emirates Institute of Finance, and Emirates NBD to launch a new programme aimed at preparing Emirati talent for careers in wealth management and financial technology.

Announced in Dubai on 28 April 2026, the Emirati Talent Empowerment Programme is designed to strengthen national participation in advanced financial services and support career progression into high-value roles across private banking, wealth management, and FinTech.

Supporting Dubai’s Economic Vision

The initiative aligns with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), reinforcing efforts to position Dubai among the world’s top global financial centres. DIFC plays a central role in programme design, ecosystem enablement, and facilitating industry placements through its extensive network of global institutions.

The programme also supports the broader “Dubai Ambition” initiative launched by EHRDC, which aims to train 10,000 Emirati students and graduates and secure 5,000 private sector jobs for UAE nationals by 2026.

Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori said the initiative represents a practical step toward strengthening the presence of Emirati talent in advanced financial sectors, adding that it focuses on creating clear career pathways aligned with labour market needs.

Meanwhile, Essa Kazim highlighted DIFC’s commitment to nurturing future leaders in high-growth sectors such as wealth management, private banking, and FinTech, supporting Dubai’s ambition to become a leading global financial hub.

Dual-Track Training Approach

The programme is structured around two key tracks:

  • Wealth Strategist Programme: Focused on preparing participants for specialised roles in private banking and wealth management
  • National FinTech Programme: Led by DIFC’s Innovation Hub, offering exposure to emerging technologies and innovation-driven financial services

Participants will undergo a two-month training programme at the Emirates Institute of Finance, combining theoretical learning, professional certifications, and practical industry experience to enhance employability.

Strong Industry Collaboration

The initiative brings together leading global and regional financial institutions, including J.P. Morgan, HSBC, UBS, Standard Chartered, Banco Santander, and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, alongside FinTech firms such as Tabby and Lean Technologies.

This collaboration reflects a unified commitment to advancing Emiratisation by equipping national talent with the skills required to thrive in evolving financial sectors.

First Cohort and Future Outlook

The inaugural cohort will support around 15 Emirati job seekers, offering an integrated development model that combines technical training, workplace skills, and direct exposure to industry environments.

Officials say the programme represents a significant step toward building a future-ready workforce, strengthening Dubai’s financial ecosystem, and ensuring sustainable economic growth through investment in national talent.
