EANAN Achieves Milestone with Successful Test Flight of RIKAZ Heavy Cargo Drone

EANAN, a pioneer in advanced aerial mobility solutions, has successfully completed a critical test flight of its RIKAZ Heavy Cargo Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). This achievement marks a significant step forward in EANAN's mission to commercialize cutting-edge drone technology that is set to transform logistics and transportation across the region.

The RIKAZ Heavy Cargo Drone was put through a series of rigorous tests to evaluate its automated flight controls, navigation systems, communication stability, and ability to handle heavy cargo. The drone, which measures 3.5 meters by 1.9 meters, can carry a payload of up to 50 kg, with the capability to increase its capacity to 200 kg. It can achieve a flying speed of up to 60 kilometers per hour and has a maximum range of 30 kilometers. Notably, the drone can be fully charged within 15 minutes, boasting a capacity of 16 kilowatt-hours.

The test flight's success is a testament to the drone's potential in ensuring safe and efficient operations in diverse environments. The evaluation focused on the UAV's navigation accuracy, responsiveness to control inputs, and the reliability of its autopilot and other autonomous systems.

“We are proud to have achieved this remarkable milestone, which aligns perfectly with Dubai’s vision of becoming a global leader in urban air mobility by embracing cutting-edge transportation technologies,” said Ulrich Weckx, CEO of EANAN.

Mashaal Al Marzooqi, EANAN’s R&D Director, added, “By successfully testing the RIKAZ Heavy Cargo Drone’s communication stability, we have taken a significant step toward realizing the full potential of UAVs in maintaining consistent and secure communication during flight. This is particularly crucial for managing UAV operations remotely, especially in complex air traffic environments or during sensitive missions such as delivering emergency or urban cargo supplies.”

The rapid growth of the eCommerce sector in the Middle East, coupled with government initiatives like the DEWA R&D Centre and Dubai Future Foundation, has fueled the demand for faster, more efficient, and sustainable delivery solutions. EANAN’s Heavy Cargo Drone is poised to revolutionize logistics and supply chain operations by bypassing traffic congestion, carrying significant cargo payloads, and reaching remote areas.

As EANAN progresses towards commercializing its technology, it remains focused on developing a viable model for urban air mobility, with the RIKAZ Heavy Cargo Drone playing a central role. This includes rigorous testing to meet operational needs and regulatory requirements essential for commercial deployment in specialized markets such as the UAE, where there is strong demand for such innovative UAV solutions.

EANAN is also committed to developing a comprehensive fleet of zero-emission aircraft, contributing to Dubai’s vision of a smart and sustainable city. The RIKAZ Heavy Cargo Drone, along with EANAN’s GHAITH model, exemplifies the company’s dedication to driving innovation and shaping the future of urban air mobility in the UAE.
