Dubai South and Toll Group break ground on state-of-the-art logistics facility

Dubai South, the largest single-urban master development focusing on aviation, logistics, and real estate, has joined hands with Toll Group, a global logistics leader and majority owner of CWT-SML Logistics, to break ground on a new state-of-the-art distribution centre in Dubai South’s Logistics District.

The 25,000-square-metre facility will include a warehouse, mezzanine, and office spaces, with a storage capacity of 30,644 pallets. Designed with flexibility in mind, it will feature a general palletised cargo area divided into four separate chambers, which can be customised to meet customer requirements. The facility will also offer temperature-controlled chambers with VNA racking and is being developed to meet LEED Silver Certification standards, showcasing the company’s commitment to sustainable building practices.

Expected to be completed by August 2026, the distribution centre will serve as a strategic hub for the MENA region. It will provide a comprehensive range of logistics solutions, including third-party logistics (3PL) services, inbound and outbound stock handling, value-added services (VAS), and local as well as cross-border transportation.

Commenting on the milestone, Mohsen Ahmad, CEO of the Logistics District at Dubai South, said:

Dubai South’s Logistics District continues to strengthen its position as a premier logistics hub by providing access to Jebel Ali Port via a bonded corridor, as well as proximity to Al Maktoum International Airport’s cargo terminals. It also hosts EZDubai, a dedicated e-commerce free zone, and a Contract Logistics Zone, ensuring an integrated ecosystem for global and regional logistics players.
