Dubai International Chamber Attracts 24 Multinational Companies in First Half of 2024
The Dubai International Chamber, part of Dubai Chambers, has made significant strides in attracting foreign direct investment and supporting local companies' global expansion efforts. In the first half of 2024, the chamber achieved a remarkable 200% year-over-year (YoY) growth in the number of multinational companies (MNCs) attracted, rising from eight in H1 2023 to 24 in H1 2024.
The chamber also reported a 127% YoY increase in the number of companies it assisted in expanding into new international markets. A total of 34 local companies received support for exporting to new countries and establishing a presence overseas, compared to 15 businesses in the same period last year.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of Dubai International Chamber, emphasized the chamber's commitment to the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to double the size of Dubai's economy over the next decade. He highlighted the role of the chamber's international representative offices in promoting Dubai's competitive advantages, making it a preferred destination for foreign direct investment and a hub for growth and opportunities.
The chamber's efforts included organizing two trade missions to Southeast Asia and West Africa, involving 38 companies from Dubai. Over 830 B2B meetings were facilitated, with significant engagements in Indonesia, Vietnam, Senegal, and Morocco. In these markets, the chamber facilitated discussions on investment opportunities and potential economic partnerships.
In Morocco, the Dubai International Chamber signed four Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to enhance cooperation with local entities, further solidifying its role in fostering global business connections.
