Dubai Culture showcases citys Heritage Sites on Dubai360

The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirates dedicated entity for heritage, culture and the arts, is showcasing the citys myriad Heritage Sites on Dubai360, the world's largest online interactive city tour that features panoramic photo, time lapse and video content.

Dubai Culture is participating in the regions largest travel and trade exhibition as part of the DTCM pavilion. Online users and visitors to the Arabian Travel Market can now gain a birds eye view of the compelling heritage attractions in the city through Dubai 360.

Shatha Hussain Lootah, Marketing Manager in the Marketing & Corporate Communication Department of the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority said: Dubai Culture is committed to celebrating our cultural heritage and taking it to the widest possible audience through innovative platforms. Through our collaboration with Dubai360, we are presenting the diverse Heritage Sites in the city online, serving as an interactive channel for visitors around the world view the compelling history of Dubai.

Building on Dubais legacy of creating best-in-class experiences, Dubai360 is the first virtual city tour that exclusively uses fully interactive and immersive 360 degree panoramic photo, timelapse and video content. The ground breaking technology that is at the heart of the project enables access to exclusive views of the city.

Dubai360 gives residents of Dubai and people all over the world a one of a kind way to experience the city. While Dubai is known across the world for its rapid modern development which is already visible on Dubai360, we are also proud of our rich culture and heritage. Through our partnership with Dubai Culture, the introduction of heritage structures on the Dubai360 website marks the next step of the platforms development and will showcase many of the citys hidden treasures to the world dating back to the 18th century, said Ismaeil Al Hashmi, Project Manager for Dubai360.

At a click of a button, visitors can explore the citys heritage sites that are featured on Dubai360 including Dubai Museum and Al Fahidi fort, located at Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood. The museum is housed within the beautifully restored Al Fahidi Fort, which was created around 1787 to defend the city against invasion and was opened as a museum in 1971. The museums diverse collection of exhibits offers fascinating insights to discover the diverse facets of the UAE.

People will also have the chance to learn more about The Heritage and Diving Village. Established in 1997 in Al Shindagha Historical Neighbourhood it showcases the local traditions, and celebrates the customs and heritage of the people of the UAE. Featuring displays presenting the ethnic and geographical diversity of the country they illustrate how environment in which Emirati people lived and how they made an impact on their daily lives. Visitors can also delve into the world of authentic craft making - clothing, tools, homes and hospitality.

The other heritage sites being featured include Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House, Al Ahmadiya School , Jumaa and Obaid bin ThanI House, Majlis Ghorfat Umm Al Sheif, Naif Museum, Museum of the poet Al-OQaili, Traditional Architecture Museum, Heritage House, Hatta Heritage Village, Horse Museum, Camel Museum and the Coins Museum. Visitors to the website can also travel inside select heritage locations and get a real-world feel of the structure.
