Dubai Culture Launches Winter Camps to Inspire Young Minds

The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has unveiled its enriching winter camps for children aged 4 to 14, offering interactive cultural and artistic experiences across Dubai’s cultural and heritage sites. Scheduled in two sessions, the camps will run from December 16 to 20 and December 23 to 27, fostering creativity, innovation, and self-expression in line with Dubai Culture’s mission to inspire young talents.

Exciting Camp Themes and Activities

  1. Al Shindagha Museum Winter Camp
    Children will embark on an archaeological adventure, engaging in workshops to learn excavation techniques, artefact restoration, and preservation. Activities include seal design inspired by archaeological finds and a field trip to the Jumeirah Archaeological Site.

  2. Etihad Museum Winter Camp
    Titled ‘Young Leaders: Shaping Tomorrow,’ this camp focuses on leadership and teamwork through challenges inspired by the UAE’s Founding Fathers. Participants will explore Dubai’s traditional architecture, green initiatives, and advancements in space and technology.

  3. Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood Winter Camp
    Under the theme ‘Journey of the Pioneers in Al Fahidi,’ children will engage in star mapping, sundial crafting, wooden boat building, and futuristic city planning workshops inspired by Dubai’s historical landmarks.

  4. Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children Winter Camp
    Themed ‘Al Jalila’s Winter Wonders,’ this camp offers pottery-making, theatre, performing arts, painting, and design workshops, nurturing artistic talents and creativity.

  5. Dubai Public Library Winter Camp
    The ‘Little Explorers’ program blends art and science through workshops at various libraries, offering activities like marine-inspired sculptures, pottery decoration, and space-themed art projects. Children will also explore VR adventures, sustainable city design, and eco-friendly innovations.

Second-Hand Book Fair
Coinciding with the winter camps, the Second-Hand Book Fair will run at Al Mankhool Public Library from December 16 to 27. Visitors can purchase a curated selection of books at nominal prices ranging from AED 2 to AED 10, promoting sustainability and spreading knowledge across all age groups. The fair will operate from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Sunday to Thursday, and from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Fridays.

The winter camps and book fair aim to provide children with memorable learning experiences, instilling a love for culture, creativity, and knowledge in a fun and interactive environment.
