Dubai Culture Honored with Two Awards at GovMedia Conference & Awards
The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has been recognized with two prestigious awards at the GovMedia Conference & Awards held in Singapore this June. Dubai Culture received the ‘Digital Initiative of the Year’ award for its Ramadan Heroes initiative and the ‘Campaign of the Year’ award for the Dubai Calligraphy Biennale, both in the Culture and Arts category. These accolades underscore the profound impact of Dubai Culture's initiatives and their reach across all societal segments, highlighting the Authority's dedication to blending innovation with heritage to enrich Dubai's cultural landscape.
The Ramadan Heroes initiative, launched in 2020 in collaboration with strategic partners, represents a pioneering virtual charitable project. This initiative encouraged community members to contribute by purchasing iftar meals or providing Ramadan boxes filled with food supplies. It aligns with Dubai Culture’s mission to promote tolerance, inspire philanthropy, and support underprivileged families.
The Dubai Calligraphy Biennale, through a highly successful promotional campaign, transformed public spaces into immersive calligraphic experiences, enhancing visitors' appreciation of this art form. The biennale's success reflects Dubai Culture’s efforts to invigorate the cultural movement and integrate artistic expression within the community.
Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture, emphasized the significance of these awards in showcasing the Authority's efforts to stimulate Dubai’s cultural scene. “Dubai Culture remains steadfast in its commitment to societal and cultural responsibilities, enhancing the quality of life in Dubai while demonstrating Emirati values of benevolence and humanity.
