Dubai Culture to highlight citys heritage sites and cultural calendar at Arabian Travel Market 2015

The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirates dedicated Authority for culture, arts, and heritage, will showcase the citys Heritage Sites and extensive repertoire of cultural activities round-the-year, including the much-acclaimed Dubai Art Season, at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2015, to be held from May 4 to 7, at the Dubai International Convention Centre.

With its participation, Dubai Culture is underlining the strong role that the citys cultural scene plays in driving tourism, one of the core economic sectors of the city. In achieving the vision of celebrating the citys identity and positioning it on the global cultural map, the various initiatives showcased by Dubai Culture complement the Dubai Plan 2021. They highlight the true soul of the city, defined by its heritage sites and diverse cultural activities held all through the year. These will appeal to the global travellers, especially cultural tourists, whose numbers are increasing year-on-year.

Dubai Culture supports the vision announced by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to establish Dubai as a city of happy, creative and empowered people.

In its third year of participation at ATM, Dubai Culture will also showcase its award-winning app that enriches the visitor experience with a geo-location map enabled functionality for users to locate all relevant heritage, cultural and artistic destinations in the city.

Developed in line with the Smart Dubai vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the Dubai Culture App won the Best M-Government Service Award in the Tourism sector at the recent Government Summit. It also provides details on cultural events in the city, the newly discovered artefacts and other artistic aspects of the city.

Also on spotlight will be the varied world-class events that attract visitors from around the world held under Dubai Art Season, the umbrella arts and cultural initiative of Dubai Culture.

The entire annual calendar of cultural activities organised, led and supported by Dubai Culture will be highlighted at the premier travel trade exhibition to offer travel & tourism sector organisations and international visitors detailed insights on Dubais cultural scene.

Dubai Cultures stand will be located on the Dubai Tourism & Commerce Marketing pavilion, as part of the concerted efforts of the Dubai Government to promote the citys tourism sector to a global audience visiting the exhibition.

At the stand, Dubai Culture will screen a selection of videos featuring its key initiatives and services including the Dubai Culture app, Dubai Public Library, Dubai Art Season highlights and the metro wrap highlights.

The Dubai Culture stand, part of the DTCM pavilion, will be located in Hall No 2.
