Dubai Civil Defence Transforms Emergency Response & Collaboration with Avaya
Dubai Civil Defence and Avaya have announced the signing of a contract to deploy video conferencing and real-time collaboration solutions across the department. This suite of solutions will allow for the quick and seamless exchange of information between the Department, its experts, and customers, and will establish Dubai Civil Defence as a Smart organization in a Smart City. The solution is being implemented by Avaya, in coordination with Connect IT, Avayas partner. Director-General of Dubai Civil Defence, Maj. Gen. Rashid Thani Al Matroushi, and Mohammed Areff, Vice President, MEA & Turkey, Avaya, signed the agreement at GITEX 2015
Speaking on the importance of the agreement, Maj. Gen. Al Matroushi said: This agreement provides seamless opportunities for collaboration and information exchange between Dubai Civil Defence, its customers in the construction industry, and other stakeholders. This is enabled via Messaging and video communication solutions offered by Avaya, in collaboration with their partner Connect IT. This architecture will facilitate instantaneous communication and information exchange and consultation between our experts and advisers.
This agreement aligns with Dubai Civil Defences Smart Defence for a Smart City strategy, which is built on advanced technology infrastructure and the digital transformation of our processes and services. This strategy stems from the Dubai Smart Initiative announced last year by His Highness Sheikh MohammedBin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ru ler of Dubai, which is a call-to-action for the public and private sectors to collaborate on transforming Dubai into a world-class Smart City.
Avaya is reputed internationally for its high-quality solutions, and we are working with them to identify additional ways in which our processes and services can be developed, and to also develop a very high degree of accuracy when it comes to the protection of life and property. As our department very often directly impacts the happiness of citizens, residents and institutions in the UAE, we are confident that this implementation will go a long way in bringing about a positive trend in customer satisfaction and overall happiness in the UAE, he added.
