DSF visitors have a smurftastic time with The Smurfs Live on Stage - World Premiere
Residents and visitors from around the world, who have come to Dubai to celebrate the Dubai Shopping Festivals 20th anniversary edition, had a smurftastic time in the city from 16 to 19 January, in the company of their favourite blue characters the Smurfs.
The Smurfs Live on Stage World Premiere was a special attraction of this years calendar of events offering fans, both young and grownups, the chance to make merry with lovable little characters created originally by the famous Belgian comics artist Peyo. It was presented in collaboration with Etisalat, a Strategic Partner of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), and the organisers of DSF.
The story was set in spring Smurfs favourite time of the year when the Smurfs are busy preparing for the much-awaited annual Spring Parade. But while the Smurfs sang and danced, the evil Gargamel came up with a plan to trick Mother Nature to bring an end to the festivities. Altogether, the tale of magical adventures saw the Smurfs fight Gargamel and save Mother Nature whilst promoting family values and team spirit amongst children.
DSF 2015 is being held under the theme, A Journey of Celebrations. The 32-day extravaganza runs until 1 February, offering more than 150 citywide events, mega attractions, numerous shopping opportunities and winning options for visitors and residents from around the world.
