Drop Down at the Metro Station for Some Music Next Week

Dubai, 12 March 2019: No, this is not a joke, this comes straight from the authorities with the announcement from the creative arm of the Dubai Media Office (DMO), Brand Dubai, on Monday.

Starting from next Sunday, March 17 and running the whole week long until March 23, when your boss glares at you because you are half an hour (or more) late for work, blame it on the Music Festival at the Metro Stations.

The Metro Music Festival, to be held in cooperation with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), will feature international performers specializing in a wide range of music genres, including traditional and non-traditional genres.

A first-of-its-kind event held in the Arab world, the festival is slated to take place at five major Dubai Metro Stations, sending the passenger grooving to the music at BurJuman, Union, DMCC, Mall of the Emirates and Burj Khalifa. The timings are, morning 6 am to 12 pm and 4 pm to 9 pm in the evening.

The performances include that of 25 musicians from across the world, guaranteeing an equally entertaining and enthralling experience for the residents, an escapade from the usual boring hustle-bustle during the daily commute.

Drawing even more awe from the public, the festival will feature innovative instruments and offbeat musical styles. The shows have been scheduled in rotation throughout the week to ensure that all five Metro Stations have been covered.

Dont miss out on this exquisite chance to enjoy performances from a host of most coveted musicians, street performers, classical instrumentalists and fusion musicians, among others. Office hours can wait, but the music treat at the metro station will leave in a week. Or perhaps, you might spot your very own boss standing right next to you, swaying along with the rhythm! You never know!
