Cisco to Launch Point of Presence (PoP) for Cloud Security in UAE

Cisco has announced its plan to establish a new Point of Presence (PoP) in the UAE, aimed at enhancing cloud-delivered security services for local and regional organizations. Set to launch by the end of 2024, the Secure Service Edge (SSE) PoP will help customers protect their users, infrastructure, and investments from cyber threats.

This initiative, revealed ahead of GITEX Global 2024, marks a significant step in Cisco’s efforts to provide flexible security services and data protection across distributed locations and remote users. Abdelilah Nejjari, Managing Director for Cisco in the Gulf and Levant, highlighted that the PoP will enable organizations to seamlessly integrate security solutions into their existing platforms, accelerating the deployment of cybersecurity capabilities.

The PoP will support Cisco’s cloud security services, including the Secure Service Edge solution, Cisco Secure Access, and will be available on any Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the UAE. Fady Younes, Managing Director of Cybersecurity for Cisco in the Middle East, Africa, and Romania, emphasized that this PoP reinforces Cisco’s commitment to advancing cybersecurity in the region.
