H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, met with Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, to explore opportunities to strengthen economic, tourism and investment cooperation between the UAE and the Indian state.
The meeting took place during Bin Touq’s recent visit to India and focused on creating new opportunities for businesses in both markets, particularly across tourism, hospitality and investment.
Focus on Tourism and Investment Opportunities
Bin Touq highlighted Rajasthan’s rich tourism and heritage assets, as well as its growing economic and investment capabilities, describing the state as an important partner in strengthening UAE-India cooperation.
He noted that the UAE-India economic relationship provides a strong foundation for sustainable growth and greater economic integration, with significant potential to expand joint tourism and investment initiatives.
As part of the visit, Bin Touq participated in the UAE-Rajasthan Tourism and Investment Roundtable in Jaipur, bringing together representatives from the tourism and hospitality sectors.
Discussions focused on opportunities to develop tourism destinations, heritage assets and hotel projects, while leveraging UAE expertise in tourism and hospitality.
The importance of strengthening direct air connectivity was also highlighted as a means of supporting tourism flows, business activity and investment between the UAE and Rajasthan.
Business Roundtable with CII Rajasthan
The UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism also organised a business roundtable in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Rajasthan to deepen engagement with the state’s business community.
The discussions covered potential partnerships across a range of sectors, including:

- Medical technology
- Renewable energy
- Infrastructure
- Advanced manufacturing
- Real estate
- Jewellery
Participants explored ways to increase economic and investment cooperation while taking advantage of the opportunities created by the broader UAE-India economic relationship.
The discussions also highlighted Rajasthan’s expanding role as an industrial and innovation hub and examined opportunities to increase UAE investment in the state.
UAE Positioned as Gateway for Rajasthan Businesses
The roundtable also explored how Rajasthan-based companies could use the UAE as a platform for expansion into the Gulf and international markets.
Officials highlighted the UAE’s strategic position as a logistics gateway connecting businesses with GCC, European and African markets. The country’s free zones, financing options and investment ecosystem were also presented as advantages for Indian companies seeking to establish or expand their operations.
The latest discussions underline efforts by both sides to strengthen commercial links and create new opportunities for businesses, investors and tourism stakeholders across the UAE and Rajasthan.
