Motorists in Sharjah have been advised to plan their journeys in advance as authorities announced a partial closure of a dual carriageway near the Al Hazanah area for six days.
The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) announced the closure on Friday, August 21. The affected stretch runs from Saeed bin Obaid Al Jarwan Roundabout to Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan Bou Aliyan Roundabout, in the specified direction.
Closure to Begin on August 23
The partial road closure will come into effect on Sunday, August 23, and remain in place until Friday, August 28.
According to the authority, the temporary closure is required to facilitate road maintenance and infrastructure development works. The projects are intended to improve traffic movement and enhance the overall efficiency of Sharjah's road network.
Alternative Routes Available
Approved alternative routes will be provided while the affected section remains closed. Motorists have been urged to use the designated diversions and follow temporary directional signs placed along the routes.
The authority has also advised road users to consider alternative roads where possible, particularly during busier periods, to help reduce congestion around the affected area.
Drivers are encouraged to follow all traffic and road safety instructions while travelling through the area and to exercise additional caution around work zones.
The temporary measures are expected to remain in place throughout the six-day period while the maintenance and infrastructure works are carried out.
