7X, a trade, transport and logistics group, and Emarat EV Charging Stations Company PJSC (UAEV), the UAE's government-owned national electric vehicle charging network, have approved the first six sites for EV charging stations across facilities operated by 7X's National Network for Logistics (NXN).
The approval marks the first phase of a strategic partnership between the two organisations to develop and deploy EV charging infrastructure across major logistics locations in the UAE.
Six Charging Sites to Be Developed in Dubai
The first phase covers six locations across Dubai: Al Warqaa, Al Rashidiya, Al Karama, Al Quoz 4, Umm Suqeim and Al Barsha.
The charging stations are expected to support transport and logistics fleets while providing charging access at strategically located NXN facilities. The infrastructure will also support last-mile operations and help improve efficiency across logistics activities.
The initiative is designed to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles within the logistics sector while contributing to the UAE's efforts to reduce carbon emissions and transition towards a lower-emission economy.
EV Infrastructure to Support Logistics Operations
The development of charging infrastructure at NXN facilities is expected to help logistics operators integrate electric vehicles into their fleets while maintaining regular operations.
Tariq Al Wahedi, Group CEO of 7X, said the approval represents an important step in turning the partnership with UAEV into projects focused on efficiency and sustainability.
He noted that reliable EV charging infrastructure is becoming increasingly important as the transport and logistics ecosystem develops and said the initial deployment could support wider EV adoption and help prepare the sector for future demand.
UAEV Expands National Charging Network
Ali Al Darwish, Acting CEO of UAEV, said the partnership combines UAEV's national EV charging objectives with 7X's logistics and operational network.
According to UAEV, the collaboration is intended to support the electrification of logistics and commercial fleets while contributing to a wider charging network serving businesses, individuals and communities.
The partnership forms part of UAEV's broader efforts to establish an accessible and reliable EV charging network and support the UAE's transition towards electric mobility.
Phased Expansion Planned
The approval of the six Dubai locations provides the foundation for a phased expansion of EV charging stations across 7X facilities.
The initiative is expected to strengthen the integration of energy infrastructure with the logistics ecosystem, support the adoption of sustainable transport solutions and provide EV charging services at locations serving both commercial logistics operations and everyday mobility.
