AURAK Hosts 16 th UAE Mathday
The American University of Ras Al Khaimah hosted the 16 th UAE Mathday, featuring keynote speakers: Salah-Eddine Kabbaj of King Fahd University of Oil and Minerals, and Nader Masmoudi of New York City University.
The UAE Mathday is one of the biggest math conferences in the UAE, where academics from throughout the world gather in the UAE to share and review their research study. Every year a different university has the honor of organizing and organizing the respected seminar; this year the 16th UAE Mathday was hosted for the very first time by the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of AURAK. This year's meeting consisted of both keynote speakers, forty-five abstracts, and more than one hundred guests from various academic institutions.
The conference commenced with an inviting speech provided by the Chair of the Division of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Dr. Ali Maalaoui, that presented AURAK's Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost, Prof. Stephen Wilhite. In his speech the provost demanded the relevance of mathematics and research for various areas and advised the target market to review executing these new findings in their teaching curriculum.
The main keynote speaker was Prof. Nader Masmoudi, from the NYU-Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, who is now checking out NYUAD and is the 2018 Laureate of the Fermat Prize. Along with the major keynote speaker, the conference included 5 different identical sessions associated with various fields of mathematics, ranging from analysis to bgeneral mathematics and math education..
The Interim Dean of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Mustapha Merabet, was extremely delighted with the seminar in that it stood for the materialization of the university's strategic goals, particularly to promote the individual and specialist development of professors and team. It additionally established links with regional and international services and educational institutions that will deal with the instructional requirements of AURAK students in the future.
