Alef Education and AfricAI Sign MoU to Advance Digital Learning in Nigeria

Alef Education has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AfricAI to launch a major digital education initiative aimed at transforming foundational learning in Nigeria.

The partnership will introduce ‘NextGen Learning Nigeria’, a large-scale programme designed to deliver AI-powered, technology-enabled education solutions aligned with national priorities.

Scaling AI-driven education across Nigeria

The NextGen Learning Nigeria initiative focuses on improving student learning outcomes through:

  1. Personalised AI-based learning platforms
  2. Scalable digital education infrastructure
  3. Enhanced access to quality education in underserved communities

The programme builds on Alef Education’s successful deployment in Morocco, marking a significant step in its broader mission to redefine education across Africa.

Leadership highlights transformative impact

Geoffrey Alphonso described the collaboration as a major milestone in leveraging AI for transformative education outcomes, emphasizing the goal of creating an ecosystem where every child can access high-quality, personalised learning.

Malik Ado-Ibrahim highlighted Nigeria’s youth potential, noting that the initiative will equip students with skills for the AI-driven global economy while creating a scalable model for expansion across Africa.

Comprehensive digital learning ecosystem

Under the agreement, Alef Education will serve as the technology and implementation partner, delivering:

  1. Its award-winning Alef Platform
  2. Customised digital learning content
  3. Teacher training programmes
  4. Real-time monitoring and analytics

The initiative will focus on core subjects including:

  1. English
  2. Mathematics
  3. Science
  4. Climate literacy and civic education

Supporting national and regional development goals

The collaboration is expected to support Nigeria’s efforts to:

It also aligns with the UAE–Nigeria Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, reflecting growing cooperation in AI, education, and innovation between the two nations.
