Al Othman Holding and Avaya Launch Private Cloud Services in the GCC
October 20, 2015: Al Othman Holding, one of the largest privately-owned conglomerates in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, announced at GITEX 2015 that it is working with Avaya, a global leader in business communications software, systems and services, to kick-off the first private cloud services model in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom. The private cloud service will help Al Othmans businesses across the GCC and their customers in the Kingdom benefit from Avayas innovative business communications solutions in a subscription-based deployment model.
The ground-breaking agreement between Avaya and Al Othman-owned systems integrator, SSBS, will make Unified Communications, Video, and Contact Center solutions available As-A-Service to 19 Group-owned companies across the GCC. The Avaya-powered Private Cloud Service offered by SSBS and Avaya will allow support for trends such as BYOD, social media, mobility, video collaboration and more, with minimal investment. Members will also have access to Avayas class-leading SDN Fx networking architecture.
The cloud market in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is expected to perform strongly this year with IDC predicting it will reach $77.5 million in 2015, up 54 percent from last year, as the Saudi ICT market continues to mature. Avaya Private Cloud Services enable companies to create simple, dynamic environments that allow organizations to roll out new applications and services faster, support new devices, improve application uptime, and gain significantly reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) and better return on investment (ROI).
This agreement builds upon years of engagement between Al Othman Holding and Avaya. The service will be hosted in number of data centers in the Eastern province. Al Othman Holding was established in 1964 by Mohammed Abdullah Al Othman as a construction company in the Eastern province of Saudi Arabia. Currently, the Group operates in sectors such as manufacturing, food, hospitality, trading, services and real estate, under the banner of Al Othman Holding Company.
