Al Bustan Centre & Residence conducts mock fire drill training with DCD

Al Bustan Centre & Residence combined with Dubai Civil Defense to conduct a mock fire drill to confirm the readiness of its center tenants and employees in evacuating the building, in the event of fire emergencies. The activity was a re-enactment of rescue and evacuation techniques and procedures, led by Crisis Management Team Leader Mr. Yasser Moussa (Deputy General Manager) and Mr. Mouhanad El Rammah (Mall Manager).

The initiative was further facilitated by Emergency Response Team Leader Mr. Ram Singh (Security Manager) along with other ERT members, aimed at boosting communication skills in case of an actual fire, to train the employees and centre tenants to respond quickly, calmly and safely. The employees learned to initiate Code Red when an evacuation is deemed necessary, by using alternate exits & fire/smoke compartments. Apart from this they were also trained on the proper usage of fire-fighting equipment, pull-stations and fire/smoke compartments that are available within the property.

Moussa El Hayek, Chief Operating Officer at Al Bustan Centre and Residence, said, We prioritize the safety of our guests, customers, and employees and to reflect this belief we regularly conduct training to prepare and educate them and make our response as fast as possible to save our guest's lives in case of emergencies. We are grateful to the Dubai Civil Defense for their commitment, efforts and hard work in promoting safety awareness among Dubai expats and citizens.

Al Bustan Centre & Residence is putting in every effort to ensure the employees are well prepared and proactively respond to fire & life-threatening emergencies with a minimum rescue response time. Fortunately, Dubai has a response time of six to eight minutes and aims to reduce it to 30-seconds to achieve His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoums vision to make Dubai one of the safest cities in the world. Al Bustan Centre & Residence has aligned itself with this vision, and hosts regular fire drills to upskill employees, to tackle tragic situations using latest methodology and technology.
