AgraME 2025 charts Middle East’s path to food resilience through innovation and collaboration
Under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE), AgraME 2025 — the Middle East’s longest-running agriculture, animal, and aquaculture farming exhibition — officially opened at the Dubai World Trade Centre, marking a milestone event in the region’s agricultural innovation journey.
The event was inaugurated by H.E. Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of the Dubai Land Department and Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality, in the presence of distinguished dignitaries. The keynote address was delivered by H.E. Sultan Salem Saif Al Shamsi, Director of the National Agricultural Center, who underscored the strategic role of empowering young Emirati talent to drive the UAE’s food security goals.
Now in its 17th edition, AgraME 2025 brought together over 7,000 stakeholders and 150+ exhibitors from more than 180 countries, offering a 360° view of the agricultural value chain. The event showcased cutting-edge technologies ranging from AI-driven water management to regenerative farming practices, all aimed at enhancing regional food security and sustainability.
H.E. Sultan Salem Saif Al Shamsi stated, “AgraME 2025 is a pivotal platform dedicated to translating food security strategies into meaningful action and innovation. By fostering collaboration between global expertise and national priorities, we aim to build sustainable growth for generations to come.”
Ahmed Khalil, Portfolio Director of AgraME, emphasized the event’s vital role in moving the regional conversation “from theory to implementation.” He noted that AgraME acts as a bridge for partnerships that strengthen local food production and advance sovereign food security.
The Future Food Resilience Summit launched the conference segment with sessions on transforming rural agricultural areas into innovation hubs. Sheikh Dr. Majid Al Qassimi, Founding Partner of Soma Mater, revealed that the UAE’s research output has grown 16-fold in two decades, while Saudi Arabia has seen a 320% rise. Meanwhile, Dr. Tarifa Alzaabi, Director General of the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA), shared strategies for biosaline agriculture in water-scarce environments.
Other key sessions explored the future of agricultural production in the GCC, the integration of AI in precision farming, and pathways to achieving carbon-neutral farming.
The event continues with sessions focused on regenerative agriculture, livestock health, and sustainable food supply chains. Experts, including Dr. Yassir Ali, Epidemiology & Zoonosis Expert at the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, will discuss advancements in animal health and genetics.
In addition to its extensive conference agenda, AgraME 2025 introduced new features to enhance engagement — including ConnectMe, a smart networking app for pre-scheduled meetings, and a digital delegate bag offering year-round access to exclusive research and industry insights.
Supported by major sponsors such as Reef Saudi, Elite Agro Holding LLC, PwC, and Dutch Greenhouse Delta, the event reaffirms Dubai’s position as a regional hub for agricultural innovation and sustainability.
AgraME 2025 runs through October 7 at Halls 3 and 4, Dubai World Trade Centre, and remains free to attend for all visitors.
