UAE's National Ambulance Responds to Over 73,000 Emergency Cases in First Half of 2026

The UAE's National Ambulance responded to 73,624 emergency cases across the Northern Emirates during the first six months of 2026, underscoring its vital role in the country's emergency healthcare system.

According to operational statistics released by the organisation, ambulance teams provided pre-hospital emergency medical care to 58,781 patients, while the Ambulance Communication Centre (ACC) handled 168,659 emergency calls between January and June 2026.

Operating under the National Guard Command, National Ambulance delivers frontline emergency medical services across Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain. Its teams are stationed at 60 strategic locations to ensure rapid response to road traffic accidents, medical emergencies, injuries, and other urgent incidents.

The service operates around the clock through the dedicated emergency number 998, working closely with police and civil defence authorities as part of the UAE's integrated national emergency response system. This coordination enables swift responses to fires, road accidents, multi-casualty incidents, and other emergencies.

The statistics were announced during the inauguration of National Ambulance's new headquarters in Abu Dhabi by Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh.

During the opening ceremony, Mohammed Salem Haboush showcased the new facility, which includes the Ambulance Communication Centre, a specialised training centre, medical supply warehouses, and a modern ambulance fleet equipped with advanced technologies and monitoring systems. Officials also reviewed new artificial intelligence projects designed to enhance ambulance operations and improve emergency response efficiency.

Established in 2010, National Ambulance has evolved into one of the UAE's leading providers of pre-hospital emergency care. In addition to emergency response services, the organisation delivers internationally accredited training programmes for healthcare professionals, emergency medical service personnel, and members of the community, while supporting national emergency preparedness alongside the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA).
