RTA Opens Registration for Dubai World Congress for Self-Driving Transport 2025

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially opened registration for the Dubai World Congress for Self-Driving Transport 2025, scheduled to be held from September 24 to 25, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council.

Held under the theme “Redefining Mobility: The Path to Autonomy,” this fourth edition of the global event reaffirms Dubai’s leadership in adopting and advancing autonomous mobility technologies. The congress will bring together a diverse range of stakeholders from around the world, including major corporations, government agencies, tech innovators, and industry experts.

Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of the Public Transport Agency and Chair of the Organising Committee, emphasized the global appeal of the event:

“The congress has grown into a premier global platform that gathers top minds and entities shaping the future of autonomous transport. It reflects Dubai’s commitment to becoming a smart, sustainable city with 25% of its transport modes autonomous by 2030.”

A major highlight of the event will be the announcement of the winner of the 2024 Dubai World Challenge for Self-Driving Transport, with a grand prize of $3 million awarded to the most innovative solution in integrated autonomous mobility. Competing companies have entered either as individual entities or consortia, tasked with integrating multiple independent systems into one seamless service.

The Congress and Challenge serve as part of RTA’s broader strategy to accelerate the deployment of smart, connected transport systems and solidify Dubai’s position as a global innovation hub for future mobility.
