Inside Fujairah’s Etihad Rail Passenger Station With Stunning Mountain Views

The first fully completed passenger station on the UAE’s upcoming Etihad Rail network has officially offered a glimpse into the future of rail travel in the country. Located in Fujairah, the newly unveiled station combines modern architecture, passenger convenience, and scenic surroundings, setting a new benchmark for regional transportation infrastructure.

During an exclusive media tour, visitors were introduced to the thoughtfully designed passenger terminal, which features sleek cream and grey interiors accented with subtle red highlights. The station’s open-plan reception area creates a welcoming atmosphere for travelers from the moment they arrive.

Passengers entering the station are greeted by automated access barriers leading toward the platform area, alongside a dedicated information desk to assist commuters. A large route map of the Etihad Rail network prominently displays major destinations and landmarks across the UAE, including airports, the Burj Khalifa, and Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Digital screens placed throughout the terminal provide real-time updates on train schedules, destinations, and platform details.

The station also includes modern ticket vending machines that allow passengers to purchase one-way or return tickets conveniently. Travelers can opt for quick bookings by selecting only travel date and time or customize their journey by choosing seats and additional services.

Wayfinding across the station has been designed with accessibility and ease in mind. Clear signboards direct visitors toward taxi areas, parking spaces, prayer rooms, and restrooms, while specially marked pathways ensure smooth navigation for people of determination.

Scenic Platform With Natural Light

After passing through the automated gates, passengers can proceed to the boarding platform, which features expansive floor-to-ceiling glass windows that flood the space with natural light. The platform offers panoramic views of the Hajar Mountains and the nearby coastline, creating a visually unique travel experience.

The open-air boarding platform is equipped with digital information displays and large analogue clocks, helping passengers stay informed while waiting for their trains.

Strategic Gateway To Fujairah

According to officials, the Fujairah Station spans approximately 51,900 square metres. Its construction involved over 20,800 cubic metres of concrete and more than 2,270 tonnes of steel, highlighting the scale of the infrastructure project.

Strategically located in Al Hilal City, the station has been positioned to serve as a key gateway to Fujairah’s major attractions. The terminal is situated around 12 minutes from Fujairah International Airport, eight minutes from Fujairah city centre, five minutes from Sakamkam Fort, and six minutes from Umbrella Beach.

Once operational, the station is expected to feature retail outlets and lifestyle attractions, transforming it into more than just a transport hub. Officials believe the station will serve as an important first impression for visitors arriving in Fujairah and will strengthen connectivity across the UAE through the Etihad Rail network.
