Footbridge at Dubai Metro Centrepoint Station Temporarily Closes for Blue Line Construction
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has temporarily closed the pedestrian footbridge linking the multi-storey car park to Centrepoint Metro Station to facilitate construction works for the upcoming Dubai Metro Blue Line.
To ensure uninterrupted passenger movement during the construction period, the RTA has introduced a secure temporary access route on Level G. Directional signage has been installed throughout the station to guide commuters safely to the Red Line entrance.
The authority said the temporary passageway has been implemented to enable passengers to continue their journeys safely and efficiently while construction of the Blue Line progresses.
Motorists and Metro users have been advised to allow additional travel time and follow the on-site guidance and directional signs during the temporary traffic and pedestrian arrangements.
The Dubai Metro Blue Line is one of the emirate's largest public transport infrastructure projects, spanning approximately 30 kilometres and comprising 14 stations, including three interchange stations, seven elevated stations, and four underground stations.
Scheduled to open on September 9, 2029, the Dh20.5 billion project is expected to significantly enhance public transport connectivity across several residential, commercial, and economic districts in Dubai. The expansion forms part of the emirate's long-term strategy to improve sustainable mobility, reduce road congestion, and accommodate future urban growth.
