Dubai Tourist Visas to Be Processed Within 48 Hours, Boosting Summer Travel Demand

Dubai is set to enhance its appeal as a global travel destination with the introduction of a streamlined tourist visa process that enables single-entry 30-day and 60-day tourist visas to be issued within 48 working hours.

According to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), visitors can obtain a single-entry tourist visa within two working days after completing the application process and submitting all required documentation through authorised tourism offices.

Travel industry experts believe the faster processing timeline will encourage more tourists, business travellers, and families to choose Dubai, particularly for short-notice trips and summer holidays.

Industry executives said the initiative is expected to reduce uncertainty for travellers while strengthening Dubai’s position as a convenient and accessible destination for international visitors.

Bharat Aidasani, Managing Partner at Pluto Travels, noted that the announcement has generated significant interest among travellers and tourism stakeholders.

“Once travellers become aware that visas can be processed within 48 working hours, demand is likely to increase. Faster approvals make travel planning easier and position Dubai as an attractive option for both leisure and business visitors,” he said.

Aidasani highlighted Dubai’s strategic location between East and West, making it an important hub for international business travel. He added that quicker visa approvals would particularly benefit professionals who need to travel on short notice.

He also pointed to seasonal advantages that could drive visitor numbers during the summer months. Hotels across Dubai are currently offering attractive promotional rates, while competitive airfares from several international markets, particularly the Indian subcontinent, are making travel more affordable.

Simple Application Process

Under the new system, applicants seeking a single-entry tourist visa must submit a recent personal photograph, a valid passport, and, for certain nationalities, a national identity card. Applications are processed through authorised tourism offices and travel agencies.

Subair Thekepurathvalappil, Senior Manager at Wisefox Tourism, described the process as straightforward when all documentation is correctly submitted.

“Once verified documents are uploaded through the portal, many travellers receive their visas within a day, while others may take up to 48 hours,” he explained.

He advised applicants to ensure all required documents are accurate and complete to avoid delays in processing. According to him, the announcement has already led to an increase in customer enquiries regarding visa procedures and travel planning.

Summer Travel Opportunity

Travel experts believe the faster visa turnaround could further boost summer tourism in Dubai. While traditionally considered a winter destination, the city continues to attract visitors during the warmer months through discounted hotel rates, seasonal promotions, entertainment events, and reduced crowd levels.

Taha Siddique, Owner of Siddique Travels, said the development has been welcomed by tourists, business travellers, and families alike.

“Many travellers are pleased to know they can receive their visas within 48 hours. It provides greater flexibility and confidence when planning trips at short notice,” he said.

According to Siddique, visitors from countries across the Indian subcontinent continue to view Dubai as an attractive summer destination, particularly when seasonal weather conditions in their home countries encourage outbound travel.

Industry stakeholders believe that the combination of expedited visa processing, competitive travel packages, affordable accommodation, and year-round attractions will further strengthen Dubai’s reputation as a leading global tourism and business destination.
