Dubai Garden Glow Closes After 10 Years; Set to Reopen at New Location
Dubai Garden Glow, one of the UAE’s most popular family attractions, has officially closed its doors after celebrating its 10th season. The park, which opened in 2015 at Zabeel Park, has been a favourite among residents and tourists, renowned for its stunning illuminated sculptures, life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, and eco-themed art installations made from recycled materials.
In a recent update on its official X account, the park announced that it will reopen soon at a new location, promising an “exciting new concept” for visitors. While no exact reopening date has been provided yet, the announcement has generated significant anticipation.
Since its inception, Dubai Garden Glow has evolved into the world’s largest glow-in-the-dark garden, combining creativity, sustainability, and entertainment. Over the years, the park has become synonymous with family-friendly fun, attracting a diverse range of visitors with its enchanting displays of light and art.
The closure of the attraction comes as Zabeel Park undergoes major changes as part of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. The plan aims to transform the emirate’s urban landscape, and one of the most notable developments is the construction of Therme Dubai, the Middle East’s first wellbeing resort and interactive park. Developed in collaboration with the Therme Group, Therme Dubai will focus on sustainability, wellness, and enhancing the overall quality of life in the city.
Therme Dubai, approved by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan, will feature a vast array of wellness and entertainment offerings. The resort, with an estimated investment of Dh2 billion, is expected to be completed by 2028. The massive 500,000-square-foot facility will soar 100 meters high and include thermal pools, 15 waterslides, three towering waterfalls, a Michelin-starred restaurant, and the world’s largest indoor botanical garden, home to over 200 plant species.
As Dubai continues to evolve and develop its attractions, the closure of Dubai Garden Glow marks the end of an era, but it also signals an exciting future for new and innovative entertainment experiences in the city.
